What is the Cost Plus Program?
Typically implemented for small and medium-sized business owners or key employees, the Cost Plus Program fully reimburses expenses that are ineligible or not covered by an existing health or dental care plan, deductibles or co-insurance, as well as expenses exceeding a pre-determined maximum*.

The main advantages of the Cost Plus Program
Below are some of the many advantages the Cost Plus Program offers :
- Reimbursed expenses, including fees and taxes, do not constitute taxable income for the employee (except in Quebec, where the amount is considered a taxable benefit, for provincial taxes only).
- Reimbursed expenses, including fees and taxes, are deductible expenses for the business.
- Members benefit from tax savings.
- It also increases the level of satisfaction of business owners and key employees with the benefits offered.
- Paid claims have no impact on group rates.
*In Quebec, the Cost Plus Program can only be offered if there is an existing group insurance plan that covers drug expenses in accordance with RAMQ’s minimum criteria.
