Jérôme Paquette appointed Practice Leader, Underwriting and Actuarial Services

In line with its recent growth and its development prospects, AGA Benefit Solutions is striving to further improve its efficiency and agility to better serve its clients, support optimal collaboration with insurers, and maximize the potential of its employees.

It was in this context that we created the role of Practice Leader, Underwriting and Actuarial Services. We are pleased to announce that this position will be held by Jérôme Paquette.

Mr. Paquette’s new role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop best practices in underwriting and actuarial services, and ensure their successful implementation throughout the organization;
  • Take part in developing the products that AGA offers and in integrating them into our operating model;
  • Help coordinate the Underwriting and Actuarial Services team’s efforts to deliver a high-quality experience to plan sponsors, members and insurer partners;
  • Support business development.

Jérôme Paquette holds a Bachelor of Applied Science from the Université de Montréal, and has nearly 20 years of actuarial experience, having worked with major consulting firms. Since joining AGA in 2014, Mr. Paquette has helped improve our underwriting and actuarial tools and processes, and has demonstrated leadership in optimizing operational excellence within the teams under his responsibility. His expertise in client and insurer relations along with his technical knowledge are significant assets that he will be able to leverage in this new role.
Martin Papillon, FSA, FCIA, MBA
Martin Papillon is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and holds an MBA from HEC Montréal. Throughout his career, he has been working in the group insurance and retirement sector. Before joining AGA in 2013, he held advisory and senior management positions with world-class consulting actuarial firms.
